If Frenkie de Jong decides to leave Spain in the next months, Chelsea, Liverpool, and Manchester United are eager to take the initiative in pursuing his services.
De Jong was permitted to leave Camp Nou by Barcelona in the summer, but it’s said that Chelsea has got encouragement that the player would be prepared to reconsider his choices.
PL titans’ demand for de Jong
After months of discussions, Manchester United and De Jong had come to terms on a deal worth 65 million euros, which could have reached around €85 million including add-ons, until Chelsea contacted them at the conclusion of the summer window as De Jong hesitated to leave Old Trafford.
Regardless of strong prodding from Barcelona to push him away to achieve financial stability and comply with LaLiga’s salary limit, de Jong decided not to leave Barcelona.
The fact that De Jong has only made five starts during the current season and that Catalonians have given Premier League suitors optimism that a deal can be completed in January even if they may not advance to the CL group round.
N’Golo Kante, a France midfielder, will be absent for Blues (Chelsea) for 4 months after hamstring operation in the week. Kante’s deal ends at the conclusion of the current season, although Jorginho hasn’t yet signed a new contract.
Both co-owners of Blues FC Chelsea, Todd Boehly and Behdad Eghbali, are mostly renewing the deals of young talents. With HCM Sports Management, which counts De Jong as one of its customers, they have a solid working connection.
The Devils (Man Utd) are still interested in dutch midfielder, however after spending approximately 240 million euros during the summer’s transfer window, they will need to make financial modifications.
Liverpool’s interest towards Frenkie
According to insiders, Liverpool is also looking for a central midfielder and has gotten in touch with De Jong’s agents.
To start a race for his signature, De Jong must first soften his stance, and everything else hinges on that.
