Tuesday was the first day after Cristiano Ronaldo’s refusal to enter the game as a bench-warmer against Spurs last week when Ronaldo has trained with the Man Utd first squad.
The Portuguese performed one-on-one workouts with fitness trainers on Friday after being left out from Devils’ squad for Saturday’s draw against FC Chelsea.
But Cristiano’s comeback to the squad raises the possibility that he might play in Thursday’s EL (Europe League) match against Sheriff from Tiraspol.
Since Ten Hag’s decision to leave out the 5-times Ballon d’Or champ, there have apparently been discussions between Ajax’s ex-manager and Cristiano.
Ten Hag’s opinion about the current situation
In summer, Ten Hag had already chastised Ronaldo for quitting Old Trafford because of being replaced at half of the game versus Rayo Vallecano.
According to Ten Hag announcement, there must be consequences for Ronaldo’s behavior; otherwise, it will be terrible in the end. If it is negative behavior so it occurs a second time, you cannot ignore it.
Ten Hag also stated that he must implement this strategy, which he finds objectionable because he prefers the team with Ronaldo at the helm.
The club matters. He has to make judgments with the club’s as well as the team’s best interests in mind. That’s what he does.
Ronaldo acted in the heat of the moment
Ronaldo attributed his hesitation to enter the game as Spurs got defeated 2-0 to a heat-of-the-moment choice. This was widely regarded as United’s strongest game under the Dutch coach.
Before this season even started, Ronaldo attempted to arrange a departure from Old Trafford, however no suitors seemed prepared to satisfy his salary demands.
He has just about half of the year left on his Manchester United’s contract, and if a contract is reached with some other club, he will allegedly be allowed to depart on a Winter transfer.
In 12 games of this season, the Portuguese striker has scored only two goals but has been in the starting team only twice in the PL games.
